Here’s the thing about dog shows… Somedays you’re a diamond, somedays you’re a stone. It’s that simple. Unless you’re some certain professional handler; in which case you could “take in a truck”. Though with all due respect to professional handlers, sometimes they do campaign good dogs. But not necessarily; and the rest of us realize this. …But that’s a different story.
Having experienced both, I can say with certainty that it is a whole lot funner to win than to loose. And whether the weather works for us or against us is all rather a matter of convenience. But what ultimately makes or breaks my take-home experience is the matter of the judge’s integrity.
