The access trail to Thunderbird Falls is pretty short – perhaps one mile long. And it is pretty easy with the gain in elevation at perhaps 100 feet. But the falls are big with a 200 foot drop.
There is a collateral trail that leads down to Thunder Bird Stream. We found some good places to play along the way…
The downside of living in Alaska is being far from my family in Maine. I really cannot think about it too hard, or I would become insatiable.
So for today I am over the moon to have had one of my sons out for a visit. And though he went home yesterday, the photo memories are priceless…
