Karl & Kim w/ Nollie – April 26, 2019
There was so much hope in this one… Yes, Nollaig was chosen to be O’Hanluan’s Foundation Bitch. …But little did anyone know; that was never meant to be.

Nollaig’s Story with O’Hanluan:
In the beginning, Nollaig had a happy puppy-hood. She had a tendency to be naughty, but naughtiness in a terrier is well understood at O’Hanluan. She was loved dearly, and re-directed as necessary. She grew up to be a lovely Kerry Blue…
At 2.5 years, Nollaig was brought out in the local Alaskan show scene where she performed like “a Special”. She achieved the Terrier Group 1 on her debut showing, and then two more Group 1’s scoring the majority of her basic championship points – plus multiple other group placements, as well as the honor of being named the Number One Alaskan Terrier in 2018. From there we attended the Chicago Specialty where Nollaig scored a 5-point major win to complete her Championship. The next day Nollaig scored a 5-point Grand Champion major win as Best of Opposites – her first day out as a New Special. Clearly we were not the only ones who thought this gorgeous girl was something special.
It seemed everything was on target, so when Nollaig came into season just after her 3rd birthday she was bred. Within a couple weeks of estrus, I realized something went terribly wrong. Our vet confirmed my worst nightmare, as Nollaig had a closed pyometra that required an emergency spay. Heartbroken does not come close to describing my angst, though I found comfort in the fact our veterinarian was able to save Nollaig’s life.
But now, I identify as a breeder; albeit one who has yet to get a litter on the ground. Perhaps I should admit to defeat; but, that is not who I am. That is not my vision.
All of this led up to a change in plan, as Nollaig was introduced to Kim & Karl in the Mid-West on April 26, 2019. Nollie will flourish in her new home; happy to be the “Only Kerry” and doted on as the special girl she is! We hope Kim & Karl will keep us posted as their future together unfolds. [To Kim & Karl: You two will always be very special to me; You hold a piece of my heart.]

Nollie was by far the sweetest Kerry in my pack. I miss her sorely, but I am happy for my little Nollie-Bug…
